Fall Birch

Fall Birch is an unframed painting that can be displayed with or without a frame. The wrap around canvas sides are painted and it has a wire for hanging.This is a painting done in a graphic modern style. The true colors in this painting are a little softer and not quite as bright. Agate

This is an entry for an abstract show. There are abstract designs in nature and I was inspired by the beautiful ribbons of color in river agates found in our area on the shores of the Mississippi.

Sunflower Welcome

This is a still life that was a challenge to paint. The painting took on a life of its' own and I lost control. After a couple of discouraging sessions I was able to bring the painting back to my original vision. This is a larger painting than I usually do. I wanted to give the sunflowers room to show off their wonderful shape and color. This  painting will be available at The Red Wing Arts Association Nov.2 - Dec. 31.

A Touch of Northern Lights

A Touch of Northern Lights is a winter landscape we would all hope to see. I've seen the Northern Lights once and remember what an amazing sight it was.

Spring Sunset

This painting is of a beach in front of our cottage. I love this time of the day just before dusk when the beach is deserted and there is a quiet stillness.

This painting seemed like a good idea at the time. I didn't anticipate how labor intensive it would be with each individual flower and leaf. I had to put it away several times to save strain on my eyes before I finished. I enjoyed working with the bright yellows and purples which are not the usual color pallet for my paintings. Pansies are such happy and cheerful flowers, always first to welcome spring.
