I Wish I Were A Georgia O'Keeffe

Winter White

This is a winter scene that I did last winter. I like the size of the canvas. I tried to  convey the brightness and quiet after a snow storm. Everything is fresh and clean.

Irises in White

This is another painting in my floral series. While painting this I discovered it is very difficult to paint white subjects. There is a fine line between chrispness and starkness. The picture of this painting is more washed out than the painting. Taking pictures of white subjects is also difficult.This painting is on streatched canvas. Portrait of a Lilac

This acrylic painting was one of my first florals after starting to paint again. Each spring the stand of very old lilac trees in our backyard bloom faithfully in a beautiful array of purples and white. I say trees instead of bushes because our house is over 100 years old and these were planted shortly after it was built. Enjoy spring throughout the year with this lilac painting.
